Parking Permit Wait List
Beginning the 2022-2023 parking permit order/issuing cycle, the Parking Office will begin using waiting lists via the Parking Portal for various permits on campus (i.e., C Preferred). The only person who can add or remove yourself from any wait list is you via the Parking Portal.
Please remember: Being on the CP waitlist is no guarantee you will get one before classes start or throughout the Fall semester.
You do not have to have a current permit or vehicle to put yourself on the waitlist. You can place your name thereon if you are looking into having a vehicle on campus in the future. If you do not, and are offered a CP or CR permit, you can decline the offer.
If you bring a vehicle onto campus for the semester, you are required to have the appropriate parking permit. You can order one via the Parking Portal.
Recent Updates:
The Parking Office will be making CP permit offers for the Spring 2025 semester beginning the week of January 21, 2025.
- Offers are made based on the capacity on the north side (Dancer, Bender, Lawther Halls) and the south side (Hagemann, Rider, Shull, Noehren and Panther Village) respectively. Thus, offer will be made were capacity exists based on one’s Resident Hall.
- Only those who still live on campus are eligible. If you do not, no offer will be made even if you are on the wait list

Thursday, June 27, 2024: The Waitlist for C Preferred (CP) parking permits is now in effect.
Offers will be made as spots become available.

If you are planning to bring a vehicle onto campus when classes start, you must still order any of the appropriate permits still available.
Parking office staff are not authorized to manually add or remove any person to or from any wait list during the school year. Nor will we accept emails or phone calls requesting such.
Once the maximum number is issued for a given permit, those eligible to have one will see the option to add or remove themselves to a waiting list for that permit. Even though you will see the option to put yourself on a wait list, if you already have one, you will not be offered another if any become available. C Preferred or C Reserved MMTC are restricted to one per person. You cannot have both.
You can yourself to multiple wait lists. An offer will be made (if you still qualify) on the first available opening. If your name is the next on more than one list, and a permit opens in each, you'll be offered the highest valued permit first.
Offers are made based on the capacity on the north side (Dancer, Bender, Lawther Halls) and the south side (Hagemann, Rider, Shull, Noehren and Panther Village) respectively. Thus, offer will be made were capacity exists based on one’s Resident Hall as supplied by the Office of University Housing and Dining.
Wait list for the C Preferred or C Reserved MMTC permits are managed strictly by yourself and the Parking Office as detailed below. Housing & Dining has no control over who is/is not on any waitlist nor one's position thereon.
The final price you pay may change during the academic year depending on if and when an offer is made (i.e, fall vs spring) or if you are upgrading from an existing permit (i.e., C or R to CP).
You will also see how many people are on any given wait list and the "Remove" button to take yourself off that list.
If during the course of the academic year, your status changes (i.e., on campus resident to off, student to staff) you will no longer see any previous wait list options.
All additions to or removal from any wait list will be done via the permit page of the Parking Portal by the requestor!
Parking office staff are not authorized to manually add or remove any person to or from any wait list until it is flushed for the next academic year's permits.
If you remove yourself from a wait list, your position is now lost. If you re-add yourself, your name goes to the bottom of the wait list.
If and when permits/capacity becomes available, the Parking Office will send out offers to those next on the list with instructions and time frame in which receive one.
This offer is to you and you alone. No other person can use it, be they on the wait list or not. This would be an unfair advantage to those already on the wait list.
Offers generally are not made until after the start of the fall and spring semesters. By this time the exact number of available is known. However, during the summer before the start of the Fall semester, offers may be made as permits are canceled or individuals become ineligible.
During the fall and spring semesters, the Parking Office will make offers as permits/capacity become available (if at all).
Please keep in mind the following:
- The exact number becoming available during the school year unknown. Office staff cannot predict your chances of getting one.
- Being on the waitlist is no guarantee you will get one.
- If you are no longer qualified for the permit, you will not be offered one.
- If you already have the permit, you will not be offered one.
- If you are no longer qualified for the permit at time of pick up, it will not be issued to you.
- Only one Preferred Lot or Reserved Lot permit per person will be issued.
- Only one entry per person per waitlist. Multiple entries will be ignored.
- Wait lists reset each school year prior to next academic year's ordering window (around April 1). They are not carried over. You must order when the fall permit registration opens or add yourself to the waitlist again each school year for the permit you want for that year.
If you are made an offer, follow all instructions on the offer letter.
