    (NOTE: The time restrictions and overnight parking prohibition apply only to designated C Preferred (CP) lots, not Trailside or ROTH)

  • IMPORTANT CHANGE TO C PREFERRED (CP) PARKING BEGINNING FALL 2025: 
  • Beginning Fall 2025, C Preferred (CP) parking permits will be assigned by residence halls on the north side of camps (Dancer, Bender, Lawther Halls), and the south side of campus (Hagemann, Noehren Rider, Shull, and Panther Village Halls). Those with a CP North permit will not be allowed to park in those CP lots on the south side and vice versa.
  • If your housing assignment changes during the summer, please let us know so we can make the change before delivery to the residence halls on or about August 1, 2025. Keep in mind we must confirm such changes with UHD. See footer for email information.

Note: All information is subject to change.

  • There is no overnight parking (1 a.m. to 7 a.m.) in lots adjacent to the residence halls (C Preferred Lots) from Sunday, August 17 to Friday, August 22, 2025. CP permit holders may start using these lots Saturday, Aug 23, 2025. Once done moving in during this time, please move your vehicle to one of the authorized overnight parking lots east of Hudson Road. See overnight parking areas during designated Move-In Week via our google map.
  • Street parking: 23rd Street (in front of Lawther, Campbell and Bartlett Halls, UNI Bookstore, etc) Campus Street (adjacent Campbell and Dancer Halls) are City of Cedar Falls controlled streets, not UNI. Do not park on any city street contrary to the posted signage.
  • The C lot adjacent Roth is not subject to overnight parking restrictions.
  • Traffic on 23rd, 27th, Hudson and Campus Streets may back up at times throughout the day. Please be patient.
  • Follow all instructions the Police, Department of Housing & Dining and Parking personnel. They are there to help.
  • All permit requirements & lot restrictions enforced beginning midnight Monday, August 25, 2025.
  • Please visit parking.uni.edu for extended Fall 2025 office hours.

1. All permit ordering/issuing is done through the Parking Portal.

2. All returns will be handled via mail through Friday, August 22, 2025. Unless issued a virtual permit (see #3 below), if you must return (not exchange) your permit, please mail it to the address below with a note requesting a refund or return it to our office. Permits must be received by September 5, 2025, for a full refund.

3. All B, BF, C, R and motorcycle permits will be virtual. This is a permit number assigned to your vehicle's plate. You will not receive a physical hang tag or permit. If your plate number changes, using a different car temporarily, or any of the plate and/or vehicle information listed above is incorrect, please contact our office so we can amend your account. A virtual permit will only be tied to one vehicle at any given time. 4. Beginning fall 2022, Parking Services began using a wait list for various permits once the maximum are sold: C Preferred (CP), C Reserved (CR), and G Reserved permits.

  • ​There is no time limit or overnight parking restrictions in the C Preferred lots.
